13 Never-Out-of-Vogue Fashion Styles

Fashion is a form of self-expression and autonomy at a particular period and place and in a specific context, of clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body posture. It is also what is trending and it keeps changing continuously. One day short shirts are in fashion and the next day it would be long breezy shirts.
But as already mentioned, your fashion is how you express yourself, how you want to present yourself to the world, what you like and what you don't. All that is expressed by what you wear.

1: Vintage Fashion Style:

Vintage Fashion Style

Vintage clothing is all about old classy looks and exquisiteness. People come and go but the lure of vintage fashion always seems to be timeless. From delicate Victorian lace gowns to baggy pants and flannel shirts, anything that is not so new or current can be considered a vintage fashion style. Some people also call it “Retro”, which specifically points out the fashion of the '80s and 90s like the polka dots, wide collars, high waist bell bottoms, striped trousers, etc.

2: Artsy Fashion Style:

Artsy Fashion Style

Artsy is one of the styles that has caught my attention. It is wonderful to see women who like to dress up in a way that they make a style statement of their own. The idea is to create something unconventional, something that is far off different from the usual traditional styles. This may involve very bold and bright colors, with exaggerated prints. Clothes following this fashion would usually have not-so-normal shapes and prints, most of which are handcrafted with the creativity of one’s mind.

One of the things that I find extremely beautiful about this fashion style is that people do not really waste time thinking about what others would think of this style. Would they find my clothes stylish or trendy or not? It completely showcases one’s personal preferences and hence it makes it a fashion style that gives complete freedom to the people.

3: Ethnic Fashion Style:

Ethnic Fashion Style

It is fashion that embraces and represents a culture and allows one to celebrate her heritage and origin. Ethnic fashion is inspired by the culture where it originates.

Firstly, ethnic means that something shares the distinctive cultural traits of a group in society. It relates to a group that shares a racial, national, religious, linguistic, or religious heritage. This is regardless of whether the wearer still lives in her country of origin. Ethnicity is the traditional culture of a social group. When you dress to reflect your ethnicity, you are celebrating who you are and expressing your cultural roots. To Pakistanis, ethnicity is all about keeping it “Desi with Shalwar Kameez, and lehenga choli, etc.

4: Formal Fashion Style:

Formal wear to me is clothing that isn’t classed as casual or daywear. It is clothing that tries to reflect a particular event such as a wedding, a dinner, or a presentation. Formal clothing dress codes are different for workplaces, weddings, and academic and religious events. To look appropriately perfect, you must use the right type of upper and bottom wear, along with accessories like ties, jewelry, hats, etc. The definition of formal wear can also vary from country to country according to the country’s culture and tradition.

5: Casual Fashion Style:

Casual Fashion Style

Casual wear is synonymous with comfort and style at the same time. It is a Western dress code that is relaxed, occasional, spontaneous, and suited for everyday use. It is a laid-back fashion style for when you have a casual get-together like meeting your friends or to wear to college or university or when you are going shopping. It comprises denim, t-shirts, plaid shirts, tops, and jeans or jogger pants.

6: Grunge Fashion Style:

Grunge Fashion Style

This clothing type is a result of grunge music and originated in the 1980s. There was a heavy emphasis on creating oversized and layered silhouettes. This style specifically included flannel shirts, leather jackets, ripped denim, metallic jackets, crop tops, combat boots, slogan tees, fishnet stockings, mom jeans, slouchy sweaters, and beanies. Baggy clothing, torn and ripped and messy clothes are the characteristics of this style. This style has something for everyone so adopt this style in your attire and make an impact with your style statement.

7: Sporty Fashion Style:

Sporty Fashion Style

This style is rather an easy one to pick up and describe. It is all about sports. If you are a gym enthusiast or are someone who loves your morning runs, this style may have already been a part of you. In this style, people will wear stuff from some popular sports companies such as Nike or Adidas with complementary runner shoes of some similar sports brands. The idea of this fashion is to flaunt their sports. This is an effortless style as it does not involve running behind flashy stuff. Just some tight runner pants, basic tees, and that ponytail do the trick. This fashion style is born in America where activewear like jerseys, pajamas, sports shoes, and tracksuits became a part of everyday wear. This demand gave an opportunity to the brands and designers to come up with sportswear of different prints and styles which took it out of the field.

8: Hip Hop Fashion Style:

Hip-hop Fashion Style

Hip hop as a music genre has become so popular in the last few decades, that fans copy their favorite singers and musicians like crazy. The hip-hop fashion wardrobe includes bomber jackets, baseball jerseys, jeans, chains, caps, accessories, etc.

9: Gothic Fashion Style:

Gothic Fashion Style

Goth fashion is distinguished by darkness, mystery, elegant wardrobe pieces, and smoky makeup even though it may surprise some that not all Goths always wear black. It's said that all Goths have the desire to stand out in a society considered too conformist. Typical Gothic fashion consists of dyed black hair, black fingernails, dark eyeliner, and black style clothing. The overall look is basically looking mysterious and morbid at the same time.

Several other fashions or fabrics that are directly associated with Gothic fashion include velvet, lace, leather, corsets, or gloves, to name a few.

10: Bohemian Fashion Style:

Bohemian Fashion Style

This is that hippie style that made its way to popularity. This style involved women having long hair and bright outfits that were made of free-flowing fabrics that included bold patterns and exotic prints along with bell-bottom pants. The contemporary version of this style is the Boho chic style and it uses handcrafted clothes made from natural materials. This style is known for its free-flowing and relaxed nature and you can see that in almost all outfits of this style.

11: Chic Fashion Style:

The word "chic" means elegance and stylishness which usually refers to a particular type. It is a word that is used by many people to give you an idea of the style of a particular fashion or the styles in which a home is decorated. Some people claimed that the word is used excessively to the extent that it just means that something is cool. It may seem ambiguous and it is probably one of the words that we usually use without fully understanding the true meanings that lie behind it. However, in the world of fashion, I can tell you for sure that from my point of view, I find that chic simply means a classy look that is produced from the combinations of a few items that are done with minimal effort.

12: Punk Fashion Style:

Punk Fashion Style

This fashion style is everything about attitude and screaming out loud about it. Punk is characterized by a lot of leather, especially when it is about wearing jackets and pants. You can find them wearing spikes, chains, and studs. They may also include some spandex, boots, skinny jeans, and band tees.

13: Vibrant Fashion Style:

Vibrant Fashion Style

This fashion style is characterized by eye-catching patterns, bright colors, and asymmetrical designs. Those who want to stand out and grab attention should opt for this look. Besides being bold and bubbly, this style is also packed with unusual styles. You don’t need to be a model to wear vibrant clothes.
